Comprehensive violin instruction for students of all ages and abilities
Most of my students are children whose parents want them taught properly from the first lesson. I also teach teenagers, college students, adults returning to the instrument, and professional violinists refining their playing.

Children and adults starting from nothing. Posture, bow hold, and a good ear built patiently, in the right order.

Shifting, vibrato, sight reading and theory — the work that turns a school-orchestra player into a musician.

Repertoire, auditions and solo competition preparation. One of my students took first place at the Temecula Valley Symphony Solo Competition.

Working violinists come to me for technique and interpretation. Many former students now major in music or play professionally.

Monthly plans include one lesson a week for the entire month, plus studio recitals. Single lessons are available if you’d rather start with one.

About Paul
Classically trained, still performing, teaching in Temecula
Paul Ciolek began playing the violin in the fourth grade. His early private teachers included Sharon Holland and Kay Pech-Anshutz, former Music Director of the Cal Poly-Pomona University Chamber Players; he later studied with Jason Uyeyama of La Sierra University.
He holds an A.S. in Music and Science from Saddleback College, an A.A. in General Education from Palomar College, an A.A. in Music from MiraCosta College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts with a focus in music from California State University San Marcos.
Combining the traditional Conservatory Method with the Suzuki Method, I provide a thorough grounding in all aspects of violin technique, musicianship, and repertoire. My students have achieved success in their musical endeavors — one won first place in the Temecula Valley Symphony Solo Competition, and many have gone on to major or minor in music and become professional musicians.

What ages and skill levels do you teach?
Students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced performers. Several of my students are adults returning to the instrument after many years away.
What teaching method do you use?
I combine the traditional Conservatory Method with the Suzuki Method, which gives a thorough grounding in technique, musicianship, and repertoire rather than one at the expense of the others.
Where do lessons take place?
At my home studio at 47333 Pala Road, Temecula — just off the freeway, with a waiting room for parents. I also teach at Susan Miyamoto's Studio in Temecula.
Will my child get to perform?
Yes. Recitals are offered through the studio and every student is encouraged to take part. I also encourage students to play in real venues — school and community events — and to attend live performances by professional and fellow musicians.
Do you perform at weddings and events?
Yes — weddings, parties, and private or corporate events. I perform solo and can arrange string quartets, trios, duos and other small chamber ensembles for the occasion.
