Private instruction

Private violin lessons in Temecula

One-on-one instruction for children, teenagers, adults and professionals — combining the traditional Conservatory Method with the Suzuki Method for a thorough grounding in technique, musicianship, and repertoire.

The Method

Technique, musicianship and repertoire — in the right order

Combining the traditional Conservatory Method with the Suzuki Method of instruction, I provide a thorough grounding in all aspects of violin technique, musicianship, and repertoire.

I am deeply committed to the musical education of my students. In addition to regular lessons and practice, I encourage students to participate in real-life musical venues — such as school and community events — and to attend live performances by professional and fellow musicians. I also encourage all students to participate in recitals offered through my studio.

As a performing violinist, I share insights and experiences from my own musical journey to further teach and inspire my students.

Every level

Where you are now is the right place to start

01

Beginners

Children and adults starting from nothing. Posture, bow hold, note reading and a good ear, built patiently.

02

Intermediate

Shifting, vibrato, sight reading, ear training and theory — what turns a school-orchestra player into a musician.

03

Advanced

Repertoire, auditions and competition preparation. One of my students took first place at the Temecula Valley Symphony Solo Competition.

04

Professionals

Working violinists come for technique and interpretation. Many former students now major in music or play professionally.

Questions

Before you call

Still unsure? Call (760) 723-0464 and ask me directly.

What ages and skill levels do you teach?

Students of all ages and abilities — beginners, intermediate and advanced students, adults, and professional violinists. I teach children from the early grades through college age and beyond.

Where do lessons take place?

At my home studio at 47333 Pala Road, Temecula — just off the freeway, with a waiting room for parents. I also teach at Susan Miyamoto's Studio in Temecula.

Will my child get to perform?

Yes. Recitals are offered through the studio and every student is encouraged to take part, as well as to play in school and community venues.

Do I need my own violin?

Yes — students bring their own instrument, sized correctly for the player. Ask me before you buy or rent and I'll tell you what to look for.

I'm currently accepting new students

Tell me the student’s age and experience and I’ll come back with times.
